Privacy Policy: Avalanche Kid
Effective date: 2026-11-05
This policy explains what data the mobile game Avalanche Kid ("the game", "we", "us") processes, why, and what choices you have. It also covers the website https://karausovlabs.com.
Who is responsible
The game is made by Ventsislav Karausov, an individual developer who publishes games under the brand Karausov Labs. Ventsislav Karausov is the controller for the processing described in this policy, except where it says another company decides how data is used. Contact: support@karausovlabs.com.
Summary
- The game has no account, no login and no server of its own.
- Your progress is saved only on your device.
- The game uses no analytics service.
- The game shows no ads and contains no third-party services (no ad network, no analytics, no tracking). It does not ask to track you and does not use the advertising identifier. The game is built with the Unity engine; Unity's analytics, crash reporting and hardware statistics are turned off.
- The game itself sends nothing about you off your device. The one link in the game, Settings > Privacy Policy, opens this website in your browser if you tap it (see "The website").
Data the game itself processes
- Save data. Coins, upgrades, skins, stars, best results, play statistics (such as runs played and the dates you last opened the game), tutorial progress and settings (language, sound, vibration, controls, graphics, interface style) are stored in a file in the game's own storage on your device. They are never sent to us. Deleting the game deletes them. Like the data of other apps, the file can be included in device backups that you make with iCloud or a computer; those backups are handled by Apple and by you.
- Language and region. The game reads your device's language and region setting on the device, to choose the game's language and suggest a flag skin. It does not send them anywhere.
- Game events. Events such as "run started" or "milestone reached" are written only to the device's own log. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. They contain no identifiers.
- No other collection. The game does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location. It has no chat and no user-generated content. This version has no in-app purchases.
- Emails to us. If you write to support@karausovlabs.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to answer you. Messages to that address are forwarded by Cloudflare (Email Routing) to a mailbox provided by Google (Gmail). Giving us your email address is voluntary and is needed only if you want an answer. We keep support emails only as long as needed to handle your request and delete them at the latest 12 months after the conversation ends. Cloudflare and Google handle the messages under their own terms and privacy policies: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ and https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Apple. Apple runs the App Store and iOS and handles your download and device data under its own privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. Unless you turn off Share With App Developers (Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us crash data and statistics about the game. Apple says this is aggregated or in a form that does not personally identify you.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Keeping your save file on your device: needed to provide the game you asked for (it never leaves your device).
- Answering your emails: our legitimate interest in answering you.
- Website access logs kept by GitHub: the legitimate interest in keeping the website secure.
International transfers
Cloudflare, Google and GitHub may process data outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, including in the United States. GitHub says it relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the Data Privacy Frameworks. Cloudflare and Google describe their safeguards in the privacy policies linked in this policy.
Your rights in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
You have the right to access your personal data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work (in Bulgaria: the Commission for Personal Data Protection). The game sends us no data, so the only personal data we may hold is your email if you write to us. Write to us and we will answer within one month.
US state privacy laws
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. The game collects none.
Children
The game is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Its App Store age rating is 13+, and it is not in a Kids category. The game collects no personal data from anyone. If a child has written to us by email and you want that email deleted, contact us.
Retention
- Save file: on your device until you delete the game (and in your own backups, if you make them).
- Support emails: deleted at the latest 12 months after the conversation ends.
Security
The game sends no personal data anywhere. It works fully offline.
The website
https://karausovlabs.com is a static website: no cookies, no analytics, no scripts and no third-party content. It is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.), and its domain name system (DNS) is run by Cloudflare. GitHub logs and stores visitors' IP addresses for security purposes. See GitHub's privacy statement: https://docs.github.com/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement.
Changes to this policy
If the game starts to process data in a new way (for example ads in a future version or an analytics service), we will update this policy before that version reaches you, and change the effective date at the top. Previous versions are available on request.
